Emmah's Story
I am Emmah, and I discovered my passion for painting when I was 18 years old. I later had the opportunity to study painting and construction skills through the Buildher program, where I completed my training.
As a single mother, I wanted to build a better future for my family. Before joining the construction industry, I worked as a chef, but the income was not enough to support my household and pay my bills.
Learning painting changed my life. It gave me a skill, a career, and the ability to provide for my family. Today I am proud to work in the construction industry, and I have seen the positive impact it has had on my life.
My dream is to see more women in Kenya join the construction industry and discover the same opportunities that I found. Through Female Painters of Kenya, I hope to inspire and support other women who want to build skills, earn a living, and create better futures for their families.
